Negeri 1000 Megalit Riset Inovatif Produktif Program: Development of an Integrated Management System for the “Land of a Thousand Megaliths” as a Learning Resource, Tourism Destination, and Cultural Heritage Preservation. SCHEDULE Megalithic Site Bada, Behoa, Napu Valleys SCHEDULE

WHO WE ARE

We are a research team dedicated to developing a system that accommodates megalithic sites in Central Sulawesi as educational resources, tourism attractions, and cultural heritage preservation. Our focus is on constructive stages, beginning with documenting these megalithic sites in 3D models for Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications, mapping the distribution of these sites, and conducting in-depth studies of local wisdom.

PALINDO

Palindo is a prominent megalithic statue located in Indonesia's Bada Valley, within Lore Lindu National Park in Central Sulawesi. Standing approximately 4.5 meters tall, it is the largest known megalith in Sulawesi. The name "Palindo" translates to "Entertainer" in the local language. The statue features stylized human characteristics, with distinct facial features and male genitalia, indicating its representation of a male figure. The exact age and purpose of Palindo, along with other megaliths in the region, remain subjects of scholarly debate. Some researchers suggest these structures date back between 1,000 to 5,000 years and may have been used in ancestor worship or other ritualistic practices. Local legends offer various explanations for the origins of these statues, but definitive historical evidence is lacking.

TADULAKO

The Tadulako Site is a megalithic location situated in Bariri Village, Central Lore District, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. It features the Tadulako statue, a stone sculpture approximately 2.2 meters tall, characterized by an elongated shape and distinct facial features. In the local language, "Tadulako" means "warlord." According to local legend, the statue represents a warlord who was cursed into stone due to a transgression. The site also contains other megalithic artifacts, such as large stone vessels known as kalamba, stone altars, and engraved stones, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region. Efforts are ongoing to preserve this site for future generations.
